Thea Oberholzer

Thea was born and grew up in South Africa where she obtained her Masters Degree with distinction and also her TEFL certificate. After performing as a professional musician with her husband, Lourens for 10 years, she started lecturing at colleges in Johannesburg.

In 1998, the couple left South Africa and settled in Taiwan where she became a college lecturer for four years. After relocating to Thailand, she became the English Principal of a large kindergarten (1500 students), a position she held for 12 years.

She obtained her PGCEi from the University of Nottingham (again, with distinction) and is currently exploring new avenues and preparing to start her own company.

Together with her husband, she will be relocating to Canada in June 2022.

Lourens Oberholzer

Lourens was born in Canada and raised in South Africa where he lived until 1998 when he and his wife, Thea moved to Asia. During his time in South Africa, he earned his BA degree and TEFL certificate. Together, they worked as professional musicians after which he became a lecturer, teaching English, Scriptwriting, Life Skills, Public Relations, Communications and Songwriting.

In Asia, he changed direction and became a TEFL teacher, specializing in teaching English to young children. He was appointed as Director of English Studies in Taiwan and then became the co-owner and Managing Director of Three Little Fridges in Thailand. For 13 years, TLF specialized in presenting English camps and after-school activities to children.

During his time in Thailand, Lourens also designed two training courses, invented the SnapperMic and obtained his PGCEi through the University of Nottingham. In 2019, he started teaching online and is currently writing content and copy for sites, books, blogs and scripts.
